Registration for Preparatory Courses for the 2025/2026 Academic Year Has Started

 

Course Description

The Polish language course lasts for the entire academic year (from October to June) and comprises 600 hours of Polish language instruction plus 240 hours of specialized subjects. Classes are held every day from Monday to Friday.

The course concludes with a certified language exam at the B2 level, which qualifies students for enrollment in studies in Poland. Participants are divided into groups based on their Polish language proficiency, as assessed at the beginning of the course.

Throughout the course, participants develop all language skills: reading comprehension, listening comprehension, writing (in various forms), and speaking. The curriculum also covers all grammatical and lexical topics at the B2 level. Classes in specialized subjects provide the opportunity to learn the Polish terminology specific to each field.

Students choose one of the following two profiles:

  •  General Profile
  •  Engineering and Technical Profile

In each semester, course participants have the option to choose 120 hours of specialized subjects. There is no obligation to select a specialized subject; however, once chosen, attendance is mandatory.

It is possible to change the previously selected subjects during the first week of the course.

The course concludes with a written and oral exam in Polish and written exams in all selected specialized subjects.

Upon passing the exam, each student receives a Certificate confirming proficiency in Polish at the B2 level, covering all language skills, issued by the Foreign Language Studies of Wrocław University of Science and Technology. In addition, the student receives a supplement containing the grades from the specialized subjects exams.

  • 1. ONLINE REGISTRATION

Register via the electronic IRC system: www.registration.pwr.edu.pl. If you do not have an IRC account, please create a new IRC account. Apply for the “Annual Polish Language Course.” Fill in all the requested details, including passport compatible personal details, address and contact details. Upload an official photo 300*375px to the IRC system. and a scan of a signed parental statement, printed from IRC (if required).

  • 2. QUALIFICATION FEE PAYMENT

Pay qualification fee to the account provided in the IRC system and upload the confirmation to the system IRC. If you need proforma invoice, write an email to: admission@pwr.edu.pl

  • 3. SUBMIT ONLINE APPLICATION

Upload in IRC system: secondary school certificate with mark sheets or degree certificate with transcript of records, mark if you need a place in dormitory and submit online application.

  • 4. APPLICATION ASSESSMENT

Wait for the assessment of your application and information whether you meet the conditions for admission to the course. If so, you will receive the Pre-Acceptance and the Model Agreement for the Provision of Educational Services in the scope of conducting a preparatory Polish language course for foreigners. Read the documents and pay the course fee to the account provided in the Agreement, attach the confirmation to the IRC system, attach the signed scan of the Agreement to the system, and send the signed original of the Agreement in two copies to the address indicated in the Agreement. We will notify you of your group assignment when we receive the original Agreement. If you do not want to participate in the course, please use the “Resign or postpone application” button.

  • 5. ACCOMMODATION

If you need the confirmation of accommodation, check once again if you provided us with information in the IRC system. The tuition fee payment is required (if applicable).

  • 6. INVITATION TO THE COURSE

After receiving the tuition fee on our account, we will issue Acceptance Letter / Invitation Letter. Next download the document from the IRC system, read it carefully and check deadlines. The original document can also be collected personally in the office of Division of Foreign Students Admission and Support or received by post.

  • 7. VISA APPOINTMENT and ARRIVAL

Book visa appointment in Embassy/Consulate. The tuition fee payment is mostly required. Provide the arrival details to the IRC system.
